Meet Evan Contento

Executive Director, Kirtland

My name is Evan Contento and I am the Executive Director at Kirtland Rehabilitation and Care. I choose a career in long-term care because of my grandpa who had Alzheimer’s disease. This inspired me to make a positive impact in this industry and the lives of others, especially for those living with or caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s. I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Master’s degree in Gerontology with a long-term care specialization and my first healthcare position with at Jennings Center for Older Adults.

I love working in senior care because I love learning about our residents and their life experiences. The wisdom and collection of knowledge really opens up my eyes to each individual resident. It only takes the smallest amount of time in your day to get to know who they are. Our center is special because of our longevity of staff and leadership team. We have employees who have been employed at Kirtland for 40+ years. We have leaders who have been with our team for 10+ years. Our employee longevity shows our commitment to our residents and dedication to each other. With this longevity, we have stellar survey history and strong interrelationships among staff.

When I’m not at Kirtland, I love hiking and spending time with family. My most favorite thing to do is running at our local parks.
